Principality branch celebrates 50th birthday on Merthyr high street

Principality Building Society’s Merthyr branch recently celebrated its 50th birthday since it first opened its doors to customers.

The branch officially opened on 27th November 1971 and has been serving the community in Merthyr ever since. 

To celebrate the occasion, members and customers were invited to the branch which served cakes and refreshments. Customers could also enter a raffle to be in with a chance to win tickets to the Wales v Australia Autumn Nations Series match at the Principality Stadium this November.

With over 53 branches and 16 agencies across Wales and the borders, Principality Building Society is committed to the high street in Wales, as well as supporting the local communities it operates in. Earlier this year, the Merthyr branch donated the cost of 16 laptops to Pen Y Dre High School to support students with remote learning during the pandemic, as well as making regular donations to Merthyr Cynon Foodbank.
