ISA Transfer

An ISA transfer allows you to move money between Principality ISAs or from one ISA provider to another, without losing the tax-free status.

Withdrawing money from an ISA to either a savings account, current account or as cash will mean you lose the tax-free status on the money.

Transferring your ISA to another provider

How to start my transfer

You can transfer your Principality ISA to a new provider. Please contact your new provider and ask to use their ISA transfer service.

Do not withdraw your money, as you will lose the tax-free status.

Please note: If the Principality ISA you are transferring to another provider includes money you have paid in for the current tax year, you must transfer your current tax year subscriptions in full. You can transfer part or all of your balance from previous tax years.

What happens next

Once we have received the ISA transfer request from the new provider, we will send your money to them within 15 business days.

The amount of time it takes for your ISA to be transferred will depend on:

  • if your account requires notice
  • whether you lose interest earned on your account

If either of these applies to your ISA, you can say on the transfer form you are happy to accept the loss of interest.

For updates on your ISA transfer, please contact your new provider.
