Welsh rugby clubs offered the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime training session at Principality Stadium

Rugby clubs across Wales are being given a unique opportunity by Wales’ largest building society to train with their teammates at the home of Welsh rugby, Principality Stadium.

To coincide with the Autumn Nations Series, Principality Building Society, sponsors of Principality Stadium, has launched a competition for one Welsh rugby club to win the ultimate training session for their club on the pitch at Wales’ national stadium where the likes of Alun Wyn Jones, Gareth Davies and Dan Biggar are all set to play this autumn.

With a full capacity crowd returning to Principality Stadium for the first time since the start of 2020, the Rugby Reunited competition will use the unique power of rugby in connecting people to encourage rugby clubs to come together for one rare experience. Clubs will be given a one-off opportunity to be coached by WRU coaching staff with some special guest appearances from the national squad, who will be on hand to keep the winning team in check during the session.

One group of rugby friends who have already got back in touch and reconnected ahead of the Autumn Nations Series are former Wales internationals Shane Williams, Jamie Roberts and Sam Warburton. Reuniting before Wales’ first Autumn Nations Series match against New Zealand, the three former players have spoken out about the importance of rugby in Welsh communities.

Shane Williams said: "Our national sport rugby is one of the things that brings communities together. I know many of my friends can't wait to get back down to the Amman United bar to cheer on Wales again.

“There will also be those going to the stadium who will have their own particular routines, taking the same familiar journey and meeting old friends in their usual spots. That sense of community is what makes the atmosphere so special at Principality Stadium and the crowd can be the difference between winning and losing a tight game."

To enter the competition, rugby players from across Wales need to submit their club into the draw on Principality’s website from Tuesday 26th October and one club will be chosen at random after the closing date at midnight on Saturday 20th November.

Vicky Wales, Principality’s Chief Customer Officer, said: “Now we’re returning to watching rugby as we know and love it – with a full, roaring, capacity crowd at Principality Stadium – we want to use this opportunity to rekindle rugby friendships and reunite teammates. It’s time to get back in touch again, with rugby and with your friends.

“To give back to Welsh communities, we’re offering one team a completely unique chance to train on the pitch where so many Welsh rugby legends have played before. Get your team back together and reunite at the home of Welsh rugby.”
