Building a fairer society
Doing the right thing for people and communities.
We’re not the largest building society in the UK, but with our roots and branches across Wales we do as much as we can to support as many people and communities as we can, in every way that we can. We call it creating impact beyond our scale.
Being a responsible, caring business is at the heart of our purpose. We use our financial strength to help build stronger local communities and a fairer society for everyone. We invest up to 3% of our profit before tax to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

Funding the future
In partnership with Community Foundation Wales we’ve provided financial grants to 97 charity and community groups through our Future Generations Fund. We focus on improving young people’s lives by supporting wellbeing, financial, education, environmental, digital, arts, music, sport and social inclusion projects. But we don’t just give money, we build lasting relationships. We stay in touch with the brilliant teams who work with young people directly to better understand how we can meet their changing needs.
Making finance accessible to all
The world of finance can be confusing. But understanding money really matters. So we work hard to help you become more financially confident and be able to make the most of your money. Luckily, finance is our bread and butter; so we know how to help. We deliver financial education programmes in schools. We share no-nonsense guides about how to manage money. And we make the time for proper conversations - whether that’s on the phone or at a branch.
Social mobility through employability
No-one’s future should be determined by where they start in life. So, we’re working with young people, especially those who may not have access to the usual opportunities, to support with enterprise education and help build the knowledge, skills and confidence to get them ready for the world of work. And we start early!
