From January 2016, as part of our ongoing support and commitment to Welsh rugby, we have entered a new landmark partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union.
This partnership will support the national game of rugby at all levels in communities across Wales and will also result in renaming the home of Welsh rugby as the Principality Stadium.
As part of this, our Members will receive exclusive access to tickets and more. For more information, click here.
The National Eisteddfod of Wales is one of the world’s greatest cultural festivals, and brings together people from all ages and backgrounds to enjoy a varied mix of music, literature, dance, theatre, visual arts and much more. The festival travels from place to place, alternating between North and South Wales, attracting around 150,000 visitors and over 250 trade stands and stalls.
Traditionally a competition-based festival with over 6,000 competitors every year, the festival has developed and evolved over recent years, and whilst the competitions form the central focus for the week, the Maes (field) itself has grown and developed into a vibrant festival with hundreds of events and activities for the whole family.
Described as Wales’ leading mobile regeneration project, Eisteddfod week is the highlight of a two year community project, bringing together people of all ages and providing opportunities to learn new skills. With a mix of outreach work, lifelong learning and volunteering opportunities, the community project steers the preparations for the festival, giving local people a chance to make it their own.
We have had a long association with this event having had a presence at the Royal Welsh Show for over 25 years. We are also sponsors of the very popular bandstand in the picnic area which is the scene of live performances throughout the event and where Dylan the Principality Dragon can regularly be seen joining in the fun!
Our partnership with the Royal Welsh Show helps us to foster relationships with rural communities and successfully bridge the gap between Welsh towns and cities with farming and rural life. To strengthen this relationship further, we are proud to support the NFU and sponsor the Welsh Woman Farmer Award and Community Champion Farmer Award. Both these categories are highly contested each year.
