Here’s a brief overview of how we collect and manage your personal information and what control you have over it.
Our commitment to you
At Principality Building Society, we’re owned by and run for the benefit of our 500,000 Members. Which means putting you at the heart of everything we do. As part of that, we’re committed to protecting your privacy.
What information we collect and why
We will only collect the information we need to answer your questions, provide you with the savings account, mortgage, insurance policy or service you want from us, and with your permission, to send you information we think you’ll find interesting.
We need your details to do our job
As a Member the information you give us makes it possible to carry out the agreement we made with you when you opened an account with us, as well as helping us meet our legal obligations
Web cookies are small files of information that help to remind us if you’ve visited our website before and if so, how you like to use it. These cookies help us to improve your online experience with us.
Sharing your personal information
To provide our services to you, your details may be shared with other companies in our group, as well as external suppliers, credit reference agencies, third parties and crime prevention organisations, but only when this is necessary.
How long we take care of your information
We hold on to your details for as long as you have an account with us, and like all other banks and building societies, for six years after your account is closed. This is so that we can easily handle and respond to any future questions or claims.
The better we know you, the better we can help you
From time to time, we’d like to contact you about accounts and services from us and third parties that we think you could benefit from. But before we send you any information like this, we’ll always ask for your permission.
You are always in control
You have the right to ask to see what information we have about you. This is called a ‘subject access request’.
Don’t fancy hearing from us?
Then just let us know, and you won’t receive marketing from us again.
We’re here to help
